CF8 Stainless Steel Quick-Connect Coupling Body
Tooling adapted to the connection design.
Customer Requirements & YTD’s Approach
Produce the specified connection geometry
Adapt the wax-pattern tooling
Supply the body with its inner bore finished
Complete casting and bore machining
A Small Tooling Change That Made the Shape Possible
The main manufacturing challenge was at the quick-connect interface. Part of the raised structure sits over a recessed groove, preventing a simple straight release from the wax-pattern die.
YTD incorporated a sliding section into the tooling. This section moves out of the way before the wax pattern is removed, allowing the connection geometry to be reproduced.
For the customer, the solution addressed the manufacturing difficulty while retaining the required part shape.
