About Aluminum Casting

Aluminum alloys are widely used in casting due to their low melting point, excellent fluidity, and suitability for various casting processes. By combining aluminum’s outstanding strength-to-weight ratio with the design flexibility of casting, manufacturers can create lightweight and complex components with integrated structures.

At YTD, we use aluminum alloy casting to help customers simplify part designs, consolidate multiple components into one casting, and reduce machining and assembly requirements. For applications requiring higher mechanical performance, cast aluminum parts can be further strengthened through heat treatment. This makes aluminum casting an efficient solution for producing lightweight, complex, and high-performance components.

A356 Aluminum Alloy

As an aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy, A356 provides good fluidity for producing complex cast components and can be significantly strengthened through T6 heat treatment. It’s also a flexible material that can be cast with most casting processes except high-pressure die casting. At YTD, we recommend sand casting and investment casting, one for large aluminum parts and the other for precision small to medium castings.

A357 Aluminum Alloy

A357 is a high-strength aluminum-silicon-magnesium casting alloy known for its excellent mechanical properties and heat-treatability. Compared with A356, it contains a higher magnesium content, allowing it to achieve improved strength and hardness after T6 heat treatment while maintaining good castability and corrosion resistance.

A380 Aluminum Alloy

A380 is one of the most widely used aluminum alloys for die casting due to its excellent fluidity, good pressure tightness, and balanced mechanical properties. Its ability to fill complex molds and maintain dimensional consistency makes it ideal for high-volume production of intricate components.

ADC12 Aluminum Alloy

ADC12 is a commonly used aluminum alloy in Asian die casting markets, equivalent in performance to the A383 alloy family. It offers excellent castability, good dimensional accuracy, and a strong balance between mechanical properties and production efficiency.
