Cast Alloys for Energy Service Conditions

Balance service life and material cost by matching each casting alloy to the component’s actual temperature, media, and mechanical load.

Stainless Steel

A reliable choice for energy equipment that is exposed to a corrosive environment, the regular choices are CF3 and CF8. For demanding applications, we also provide 17-4 PH to cast parts with higher strength.

Superalloy

For extreme working conditions such as high temperatures and high load-bearing, superalloys offer better performance than other materials. The common grades we cast include K18 and In718, which cover most energy equipment needs.

Carbon Steel

Carbon steel is a universal material in a wide range of energy applications due to its balanced cost, strength, and weldability. Among the vast range of carbon steel casting grades, WCB is most favored for its comprehensive performance.

Alloy Steel

Alloy steels are application-specific materials; they add alloying elements like Cr, Mo, Ni, V, etc., to enhance performance in specific aspects. That's why alloy steel is preferred in energy equipment, where ASTM A217 WC6 is the most common alloy in casting power plant valves.

Aluminum Alloy

Aluminum Alloy is more preferred for new energy equipment parts, such as solar, wind power systems, and power generators, where lightweight construction, heat dissipation, electrical insulation, and high corrosion resistance are primarily required.

Renewable Energy

Wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal equipment create very different casting needs. Typical parts range from solar-tracker hardware and wind-system brackets to pump, valve, and flow-control components used around water and heat.

Power Transmission

Transmission equipment places heavy mechanical loads on parts that remain exposed outdoors for years. Cast applications include conductor clamps, insulator fittings, cable accessories, connector bodies, and substation hardware.

Power Distribution

Closer to the end user, distribution equipment becomes smaller, more standardized, and often produced in higher volumes. Typical castings include switchgear housings, transformer hardware, connector bodies, covers, and mounting components.

Energy Storage

Energy storage extends beyond battery enclosures. Castings are also used in thermal-management hardware, pump and valve systems, and equipment for thermal, hydrogen, and pumped-hydro storage.
