About Stainless Steel Casting
Stainless steel has been a preferred material for casting since its invention. All due to its excellent corrosion resistance, properties, and adaptability across industry applications. Different from stainless steels used in wrought processing, such as 304 and 316 for forging and CNC machining. The stainless steel used in casting is specially tuned to the composite element for better flowability when melting, which can help to fill small details of a mold to produce precision castings. The most widely used grades are CF8 and CF8M(Grades that follow the ASTM standard), often considered the equivalent of 304 and 316, but they are actually slightly different in composition.
With a melting point over 1400℃ and a pouring temperature ranging from 1550℃ to 1650℃, not all casting processes can handle stainless steel. The commonly selected casting methods are investment casting(For complex castings within 100 kg) and resin sand casting(For simple parts up to tons). CF8 (ASTM A351) is the standard cast equivalent of 304 stainless steel, serving as the benchmark alloy for general corrosion-resistant applications. It offers excellent castability, superior toughness, and reliable resistance to atmospheric corrosion and organic acids, making it a universal choice for manufacturing components across water treatment and food processing sectors.

CF8M Stainless Steel
CF8M is the heavy-duty upgrade to standard austenitic castings, engineered specifically for environments where standard 304/CF8 would fail due to pitting and chemical attack. The critical addition of 2.0%–3.0% Molybdenum alters the alloy’s matrix, creating a highly stable passive layer that resists chloride-rich media, marine environments, and aggressive organic acids.

CF3 Stainless Steel
CF3 is the ultra-low carbon variant of CF8, specifically developed to eliminate the risk of intergranular corrosion in welded assemblies. With a maximum carbon content strictly limited to 0.03%, this alloy has been the premier choice for complex, large-scale industrial piping networks, welded valve assemblies, and chemical storage equipment where field fabrication is required.

17-4PH Stainless Steel
17-4PH is a precipitation hardening stainless steel widely used for cast components requiring high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. Through heat treatment, it achieves significantly higher mechanical properties than conventional austenitic stainless steels such as CF8 and CF8M.

Duplex Stainless Steel 2205
Duplex Stainless Steel 2205 combines the advantages of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, offering excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and superior resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. With nearly twice the yield strength of conventional austenitic grades, it performs reliably in harsh environments such as marine systems, chemical processing, and energy applications.
