Valve Bodies

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel valve castings are a common choice where contact with water or process fluids makes corrosion resistance important. The grade needs to suit the fluid chemistry, temperature and cleaning conditions.

Carbon Steel

Carbon steel is widely used for industrial valve bodies and bonnets. Your material specification, operating temperature and mechanical requirements guide the grade and any required heat treatment.

Alloy Steel

Alloy steel grades offer options when a valve component needs particular strength, wear resistance or heat resistance. We review the grade and heat treatment together with your required properties.

Nickel-Based Alloys

Nickel-based alloys provide options for demanding corrosion or temperature conditions. YTD's experience with nickel-based castings supports projects where the material requirements call for a specialized alloy.

Machining for Valve Assembly

A valve casting needs more than the right overall shape. Its sealing, locating and mounting features must also fit the other parts in your assembly.

We machine the features that matter to that fit:

  • Seat pockets and bores that locate internal components.
  • Sealing and gasket faces that meet mating parts.
  • Stem and shaft holes that position the operating mechanism.
  • Flange faces, threads and bolt patterns that connect the valve to the pipeline or actuator.

YTD handles casting and CNC machining as one project. We plan the cast shape with extra material where needed for machining, helping carry your drawing requirements through to the finished part.

Valve Casting Delivery Options

Order the casting at the stage that fits your production. YTD can coordinate tooling, casting, machining, surface finishing and inspection, reducing the number of suppliers you need to manage.

Cast Blanks

Receive cleaned castings for machining in your own facility. We review which surfaces need machining allowance so your team can complete the part to its final dimensions.

Machined Components

Have us finish the specified bores, faces, threads and mounting features. You can retain selected operations in your own production or source the component with all drawing-defined machining completed.

Finished and Inspected Parts

Combine machining with the specified surface treatment, inspection and packaging. The quotation identifies the included operations and checks so you know which steps are completed before delivery.

Valve Casting Inspection

For valve parts, material properties, mating dimensions and casting defects can all affect acceptance. We agree the inspection scope with you so the checks address your part’s requirements.

  • Material and mechanical properties: Spectrometric analysis checks alloy composition. Tensile and hardness testing can be included where required by your specification.
  • Critical dimensions: Dimensional inspection, including CMM measurement where needed, checks specified bores, faces, hole positions and other assembly features.
  • Casting defects: Fluorescent penetrant testing can reveal surface-breaking defects. X-ray inspection can help identify internal defects that visual checks cannot show.

Share your required tests, acceptance criteria and reports when available. We confirm the inspection methods, sampling and documentation with the quotation and sample plan.

Practical answers about starting a custom project, choosing a process and planning production.

Yes. Send a photo, model, sample details or a description of the part you need. We will identify the dimensions, material and other information needed for an assessment and quotation. If a physical sample is available, we can discuss how to use it. The manufacturing details are confirmed before tooling or production begins.

We review the material, shape, size, internal passages, quantity and machining requirements. Investment casting and sand casting offer different ways to produce valve components. You can specify a process or ask us to recommend a route after reviewing the part.

Yes. We can plan samples before repeat production and review a tooling route for smaller orders. Where suitable, 3D-printed wax patterns can support batches of around 10 pieces without conventional tooling, usually at a higher unit cost. Conventional projects typically start at 50 or 100 pieces, depending on the part and project.

General production lead times are around 30–90 days, depending on complexity, machining and inspection. A new design may also need time for requirements review, tooling and sample approval. We clarify which stages the quoted lead time includes and discuss the shipping schedule separately. Complex projects can take longer.
