A Dedicated Fixture for Three Machined Ends
The key machining challenge was how to hold the three-way body while working on its connection ends.
YTD designed a fixture specifically for this component. It provided the setup needed to machine the outer surfaces and form the shoulders at the three interfaces.
This fixture was an essential part of completing the customer’s required part geometry.
Manufacturing & Supply
From Casting to Finished Connections
| Stage | Work completed |
|---|---|
| Feinguss | Formed the CF8 body with uniform wall thickness before machining. |
| External machining | Reduced the outside diameter at each connection end, creating the stepped profiles visible on the finished part. |
What the Customer Received
A three-way fitting with all three connection ends machined and the central body retaining its cast surface.
YTD’s scope covered the tooling, casting and machining needed to produce this component.
